Quilt that was raffled at the 2011 Auction |
A community institution for more than 50 years, the St. James Auction is held on the last Saturday in July or the first Saturday of August every year. Beside the main auction, held under a tent on the church grounds, there is the boutique, white elephant, and country kitchen with garden vegetables. Toys, perennial plants, not to mention home baked items, are also for sale. Recent additions to the event include a sensational quilt raffle. Of course there are refreshments galore, including such lip-smacking items as hamburgers, hot dogs, beer, soda, wine, and homemade baked goods. |
